Privacy Policy
How Cloak and Blade LLC handles your information — in plain language.
We never sell your information, and we never share it with third parties for their own purposes. We disclose your information only with your express permission, to the trusted providers who help us run our services under strict confidentiality, or where the law requires it. That's it.
Cloak and Blade LLC ("Cloak and Blade," "we," "us," or "our") is a veteran-owned cybersecurity company serving small businesses in the CSRA and Augusta, Georgia region. We respect your privacy and hold ourselves to the same standard of data protection we deliver to our clients.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website and general business interactions, how we use it, and the limited circumstances in which it may be disclosed. Information we access or create while delivering security services to clients is handled separately, under contract — see Client & Security-Engagement Data below.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
When you contact us, request a consultation, or engage our services, we may collect your name, business email, phone number, company name, company size, industry, the services you're interested in, and anything you choose to include in a message or form.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we and our analytics tools may automatically collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site that referred you, approximate location, and access timestamps. This helps us understand how the site is used and keep it secure.
Information from cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality and for analytics. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work as intended without them.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your inquiries and schedule and conduct consultations
- To deliver, manage, and support the services you request
- To send you service-related communications (for example, confirmations and updates)
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and offerings
- To detect, prevent, and address security incidents, fraud, or abuse
- To comply with our legal and contractual obligations
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell it.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or purposes. We disclose information only in these limited situations:
- With your consent or at your direction — when you ask us to share it, or otherwise give us permission.
- To trusted service providers — companies that help us operate, such as our website hosting, client portal/CRM, email, scheduling, and security tooling providers. They may access information only as needed to provide services to us, are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and may not use your information for their own purposes.
- For legal and safety reasons — to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or an enforceable government request; to enforce our agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our clients, the public, or Cloak and Blade.
- In a business transfer — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change, and any successor will be bound by this Policy or a policy at least as protective.
4. Client & Security-Engagement Data
When you become a client, we may access, process, or create sensitive technical and business information in the course of delivering defensive (Cloak) or offensive (Blade) security services — including system configurations, assessment findings, and identified vulnerabilities. We treat this information as strictly confidential.
Such information is governed by the specific agreement we have with that client — for example, our Master Services Agreement and Non-Disclosure Agreement, and, where applicable, a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement — and not by this website Privacy Policy. We do not disclose client engagement information except as permitted by that agreement or required by law.
5. Data Security
Security is our profession, and we apply it to your data. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — such as encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices — designed to protect your information. That said, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal and contractual obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it. Client engagement data is retained according to the applicable client agreement.
7. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of it, and to opt out of certain processing. Residents of California and other U.S. states with privacy laws (for example, Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut) may have specific rights, including the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — note that we do not sell or share your information for those purposes.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and we'll respond as required by applicable law. You can also unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time using the link in those messages.
8. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services that we do not own or control. This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy practices.
9. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll provide additional notice where appropriate. Your continued use of our website after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
